The start of my Linux journey
I just got Linux to work on my old Chromebook, an absolute potato of a machine. Prior to it's revival it was running an outdated chrome and was failing horribly so I was wandering if I could get Linux to work on it and lo & behold Mr.Chromebox tech had me covered. It took a bit of mucking round to get things right but now I have a good device for screen-casting to the tv via an HDMI cable. Which before was non-functional with the old OS & wouldn't have volume.
Now that I've played around with mint xcfe on the Chromebook I've got the itch to take the leap to put mint cinnamon on my pc. The main thing that's holding me back is getting my beloved stardew valley to work, getting an alternative CD burning software and the task of migrating my stuff onto the other locked down pc then migrating back or reinstalling the stuff i care about. But newfound freedom is worth it and my hyper-fixation demon is pulling all the strings here. I don't think i have a choice but to conform to the ways of the penguin however i'm more than happy to
